Maintaining FCRA compliance is not only a top priority but a requirement for CRAs. The National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) has taken the lead in responding to CRA needs by developing accreditation standards designed to maintain the highest levels of FCRA compliance. What about providers? Here too, NAPBS has developed a provider certification program to ensure that when choosing research providers, CRAs can be confident that the researchers meet NAPBS requirements. County House Research (CHR) takes our role in FCRA compliance very seriously and requires all leadership to complete the NAPBS Criminal Research Provider Certification. By successfully completing and obtaining certification, each leadership team member demonstrates their own personal commitment to compliance. The certification process tests an individualβs knowledge and mastery of the NAPBS Criminal Records Provider Guidelines. These guidelines are set by the NAPBS Provider Advisory Group, of which CHR is a founding member. To become certified, an individual must score 100% on a time-limited test. Certificates are valid for two years, after which re-certification is required. Shifting back to the CRA side of the equation, choosing qualified and competent research providers is an important step in maintaining compliance. The NAPBS Criminal Research Provider Certificate Program makes that step easier.
