Belated happy Halloween. I hope everyone had fun dressing up, decorating, taking the kids trick or treating, etc. It felt like October came and went shockingly fast this year. I hardly got used to the fall and here we are only three weeks from Thanksgiving. Which brings me to movies. I expect that most of us have a favorite holiday movie or two (Die Hard, anyone?). But did you know that one of the most beloved Christmas movies of all time, Frank Capra’sย It’s a Wonderful Life, wasย considered subversive by the FBIย because of its supposedly Communist message? It’s true. Ironically, it’s rise to national treasure status happened in part because of good old fashioned market capitalism. A 20-year copyright lapse allowed television stations to broadcast the film royalty-free from the 1970s through the 1990s. Have fun at the movies!
