National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) Conference

       We found the conference itself to be very well organized by the NAPBS staff members. More than 400 companies attended, 174 more than last year's number. It was exciting to have the opportunity to meet in person all of the people with whom we've phoned or emailed; and wonderful to see all of the familiar faces, as well.

      Privacy vs. Safety and Security was an important issue brought up at the conference. This is a major concern for the information industry, on account of the breaches that took place not too long ago. Les Rosen stated that a strong self-regulated industry can protect our privacy as well as help induce safety and security. Being a member of NAPBS and attending the conferences creates awareness within the industry, resulting in better knowledge of how to secure our information. If you are not already a member of NAPBS, we highly recommend becoming one.
