Celebrating 10 Years of Excellence!
County House Research Inc.

With November here, we are busy preparing for the upcoming Annual Pre- Employment Screeners Conference in Clearwater, Florida. As always, we look forward to catching up with colleagues and meeting new friends. This year's conference is especially significant because it coincides with our 10th year in business. We hope all attendees will stop by our table to see what County House Research, Inc. has in store for the next 10 years.

Spreadsheet Application—A spreadsheet is a computer program that allows users to create and manipulate information as a table of values arranged in rows and columns. Microsoft Excel, the industry standard, was designed for the manipulation of numeric data but it is also highly effective for creating lists. Since the information can be converted into database and word processing programs, Excel offers great versatility. For example, CHR's new ImportDirect(TM) module allows Credit Reporting Agencies to submit bulk research requests by email in an easy-to-use Excel spreadsheet template available from CHR. The data integrates seamlessly with CHR's internal request management software resulting in more efficient request processing and the elimination of transcription errors.

CHR has recently completed a complete redesign of our website and a remarkable upgrade of our IT systems. We have more than doubled server capacity and improved security. I can say with confidence that CHR leads our industry in technology and IT capacity. Above all, we now have even more resources at our disposal to provide the kind of unparalleled customer service that makes CHR an industry leader. I want to thank our IT team for the smooth transition to the new systems.

Salary, though important, rarely tops job satisfaction surveys. Instead workers are motivated by a combination of factors including the potential to learn new skills and meet new challenges. Like the people who inhabit them, organizations work best when the bottom line is only one consideration. The idea that continual growth and adaptation drive organizations forward is at the core of what MIT management guru Peter Senge dubbed the “Learning Organization.”

The concept of organizational learning as presented by Senge and others offers a systematic way to foster greater creativity and productivity. In other words, learning organizations have a significant competitive edge. A great team starts with great team members. Consumer Reporting Agencies help foster great team development by helping companies identify the best potential employees.

By creating an organizational culture that encourages teams to constantly adapt to new challenges while maintaining their core purpose, businesses can enhance their effectiveness.
